Comprehensive Syrup Oral Liquid Manufacturing
Look at the product table on this page and one thing stands out: most of the range is dry syrup, not liquid syrup. That's not incidental — antibiotics like cefixime, cefpodoxime, and amoxicillin-clavulanate degrade faster in liquid form, so they're manufactured and shipped as a dry powder blend and reconstituted into suspension only at the point of dispensing. Getting that reconstitution stability right is a different manufacturing discipline than producing a ready-to-drink multivitamin syrup, and Delwis Healthcare runs both as a syrup manufacturing company in India.
Beyond the pediatric antibiotic range, we also produce cough and antihistamine syrups, nutraceutical and multivitamin formulations, and enzyme/metabolic syrups — each validated separately rather than run through one generic liquid-filling process.
Syrup & Oral Liquid Formats We Manufacture
Dry syrup covers the bulk of our pediatric antibiotic range — cefixime, cefpodoxime, linezolid, and amoxicillin-clavulanate combinations are all manufactured as dry powder and reconstituted at the pharmacy. As a dry syrup manufacturer in India, the formulation work here is mostly about particle size and flow characteristics of the dry blend, since that determines how cleanly it reconstitutes.
Cough and antihistamine syrups — our Dextrom, Maxtrid, and Levot range — are liquid formulations built around expectorant, antitussive, or antihistamine actives, where taste-masking matters more than it does for antibiotic syrups since these are taken repeatedly over several days.
Pediatric syrups span both categories above, but carry additional dosing-accuracy requirements given the narrower therapeutic margins in children. Multivitamin and nutraceutical syrups — Nutrawis, Lycowis, Mega Plus — are liquid, ready-to-use formulations where stability of light- and oxidation-sensitive vitamins is the main manufacturing challenge rather than reconstitution or dosing precision.
Our Syrup Manufacturing Process
Liquid syrup and dry syrup follow different manufacturing sequences, since one is filled wet and the other is filled dry and reconstituted later.
Syrup vs. Elixir vs. Suspension
These three terms get used loosely, but they describe genuinely different formulations. A syrup is a concentrated sugar-water solution — the active ingredient (if any) is fully dissolved, giving a smooth, viscous liquid that doesn't need shaking before use. An elixir is built on a different base entirely: a hydro-alcoholic solution, typically 10-40% alcohol, which is why the difference between syrup and elixir matters for formulation choice — alcohol dissolves certain actives that water alone can't, and the resulting elixir tends to be thinner and more stable over time than an equivalent syrup, though it isn't suitable for every patient population given the alcohol content.
A suspension is different again: rather than being dissolved, the active ingredient is dispersed as fine undissolved particles throughout the liquid, which is exactly why the difference between syrup and suspension matters at the counter — a suspension separates on standing and has to be shaken before each dose, while a syrup doesn't.
This connects directly to why dry syrup is used instead of liquid for antibiotics specifically: several common antibiotic actives are only stable in an aqueous (water-based) environment for a limited window, sometimes as little as one to two weeks, before hydrolysis degrades potency. Shipping and storing the product dry avoids that degradation entirely — the patient reconstitutes it into a suspension only when the course of treatment actually begins, giving a fresh stability clock that matches the typical treatment duration.

Why Liquid and Dry-Fill Batches Need Separate Quality Controls
A liquid syrup batch and a dry syrup batch fail in different ways, so we don't run one quality checklist for both. Liquid batches are checked for viscosity drift, microbial growth in an aqueous medium, and pH stability. Dry-fill batches are checked for fill-weight accuracy and powder flow, since a dry syrup that doesn't reconstitute evenly gives an inaccurate dose regardless of how correct the underlying formulation is.
- Validated purified water systems for every liquid-base batch
- Fill-by-weight accuracy checks specific to dry syrup lines, separate from liquid fill-volume checks
- In-house microbial and assay testing tuned to aqueous vs. dry storage conditions
- Viscosity and pH monitoring through the liquid production line
- Full batch documentation and traceability across both formats
How We Handle Formulation Stability Differently by Format
The single biggest technical decision on a new syrup project is usually liquid vs. dry fill, and that decision is driven by the active ingredient's stability in water — not by cost or convenience. We flag stability risk during formulation review, before a brand commits to a liquid format that might not hold up on the shelf.
What Happens After the Batch Passes Testing
A compliant batch isn't a finished product yet — documentation, stability data, and packaging still have to come together before a brand can bring it to market.
Regulatory Documentation
Dossier-level documentation prepared for domestic approval and export clearance, covering both liquid and dry-fill formulations.
Stability Programs
Real-time and accelerated stability studies confirm shelf-life — particularly important for liquid syrups, where degradation shows up faster than in dry-filled products.
Bottle Filling & Packaging
Tamper-evident bottle filling for liquid syrups, precision weight-fill for dry syrups, both built for export-ready presentation.
What Brands Get Working With Us on Syrups
Most third-party manufacturers can fill a bottle. Fewer can tell a brand upfront whether their formulation should be liquid or dry-fill, and why — that's the distinction we lead with.
